NxN Software Inc. announced today that Prolific Publishing, developers of Dreamworks' Shrek™ for Gameboy Color, Mattel's Hot Wheels® CRASH™! and Caterpillar Construction Zone™ , Disney's 102 Dalmatians™ and the Return Fire™ series, will use the NxN alienbrain digital production management solution to support their next generation Gamecube development project, which is set to begin immediately.
Founded in 1987, Prolific Publishing and its sister company Silent Software have developed games for almost every platform and for many of the industry's best-known publishers. To manage the complexities of modern game development in the highly competitive interactive entertainment market, Prolific has turned to NxN Software's alienbrain to help implement effective team collaboration, control development processes and ensure on-time delivery for their new Nintendo Gamecube project. Prolific has purchased 5 seats to manage the pre-production phase and will expand that count to 15 seats over the next 6 months.
"We have been creating games for years, and every year the development environment gets more complex and competitive," stated Russell Mix, CEO of Prolific. "By providing a comprehensive production solution for our project NxN's alienbrain will help us eliminate time-consuming errors and deliver the highest quality products to our publishers." Baron R. K. Von Wolfsheild, CTO of Prolific added, "Even a normal 1% error rate on file names can mean thousands of errors during a project of 20K files. alienbrain can eliminate almost all of this."
"Prolific is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable game developers in the industry," stated NxN CEO, Gregor vom Scheidt. "The Prolific purchase of alienbrain is a vote of confidence that we appreciate. And it affirms our conviction that advanced digital production management solutions are needed to support modern game development projects."
